When holidaymakers head to a campsite, they are most likely going out and doing off-site activities- which is completely fine, but what if you could offer an extra special experience on site that can become an additional revenue stream for your established business?
Introducing the Camping Cabins BBQ Cabin!
What Is A BBQ Cabin?
Our unique sloping walled cabins are inspired by traditional Scandinavian Grillkota (“Grill house”) BBQ huts, which also inspired the shape for our Camping Cabins! Our founder, Gareth, was inspired by the traditional Grillkota he saw dotted about the landscape when visiting his Finnish wife Virpi’s family home. He learnt that these huts are for anyone to use all year round, even in the harshest conditions, and still manage to keep the heat in and protect those seeking shelter inside.
With the unpredictability of British weather, Gareth and Virpi thought these would be excellent to bring to the UK and thus, our sister company Arctic Cabins was born. Many campsite and glampsite owners were looking to offer something unique on their accommodation site with a BBQ cabin, and thus Camping Cabins was created with the goal of serving the business to business sector, for those looking to expand their offerings. We are here to help you provide people with the joy of all year round, cosy campfire cooking, rather than limiting it to a few weeks of the year!
How Can I Use A BBQ Cabin For My Business?
It’s really up to you how you decide to use you BBQ Cabin, but here are a few ideas to get you inspired-
- Cosy Cooking Space for Your Guests: Let’s get the obvious point out of the way- using your BBQ Cabin for guests to hire out and cook in. It’s a great space for birthday parties, hen/stag dos, anniversaries or any kind of celebration you can think of! You could even collaborate with local businesses and create food packs that guests can purchase to use in the cabin!
- Animal Interaction Sessions: If you own a working farm you could use the space for animal meet and greets like Nanny Sharon’s Alpaca Farm do, to educate people and spread awareness about all the hard work that happens on a working farm.
- Dining Experiences: The Hungry Obbit in Northumberland uses one of our cabins for an exclusive dining experience, where the food is prepared in front of guests on the central BBQ cabin grill and helps to raise money for the Hilltop Farm Animal Sanctuary!
- Experience Space: There are plenty of opportunities to offer seasonal experiences to your guests; Santa’s grotto at Christmas (like how our previous clients at Driftwood Lodges transform their cabins at Christmas), a witch's hut at Halloween, host seasonal arts and crafts sessions- the list goes on!
See What Our Previous Business Owners Have To Say
"Since installing the BBQ hut and the hot tub and pool, we have seen our turnover increase by more than 50% because of the extra bookings out of season and because we have been able to increase our prices because of the extra facilities available.
It's a very unusual thing to be able to offer to our guests and sits well with the quality accommodation that we offer.” - Godremamog Mill, Carmarthenshire.
“The cabins allow us to have a nice, warm meeting place after our alpaca walks and a special space to hire out or hold events! We went with the most suitable design that would align with our natural surroundings, and they could not look better!" - Nanny Sharon’s Alpaca Farm, Wirral.
“We were looking at offering somewhere undercover for guests to enjoy when the weather's not so good; to cook & gather, daytime or evening. We offer it to guests to hire out, so it gives them the option to enjoy some Scandinavian cosiness for their special occasions - they are great for guests celebrating birthdays or engagements during their stay with us! It's brilliant to be able to offer guests another option & experience when they stay with us.” - Humble Bee Farm, North Yorkshire.
“An extension wasn’t an option, as we needed the building to be separate from our house. It needed to be part of the spa so it could be used as a changing and treatment room and kept separate from our home. We also wanted something that would fit in with the surroundings as well as somewhere that could be used all year round as somewhere we could entertain and retreat to in the winter. It’s definitely a selling point for our business, prospective customers are wowed when they see the BBQ Cabin on our web page and when they arrive they are blown away by it and can’t help but take pictures, no one can believe how big it is on the inside!” - Bridget & Neil.
